Akti
Context
Akti is an application for invoicing, tracking stock, project management, CRM and ERP.
The invoicing process was rather complex, since it involves creating and generating the invoice, sending it, and receiving/recording payments. It had integrations with software from Isabel Group, Box and others.
I was brought in to do a partial redesign of the application, and lower the usage complexity level.
Akti was acquired by UnifiedPost a few years after.
Discovery
For this project I did customer interviews and user shadowing. Due to the wide array of customer types, I had to ensure I talked to enough different types to understand and cover most use cases.
Designs
Invoice view – Focused on the key info and actions: viewing the invoice, quick overview of the key info, and tracking the progress of the invoice journey (created, sent, paid).
Invoices overview – Creating a clean interface with the right information density. User needs to be able to see basic metrics, view invoices, search and filter, and switch tabs to different categories.
Product page – Making the product creation process simple. Some tabs also have the + (add) action directly, since they are often used and it was a pain point to most users.
